The city is located in Harris County.
Baytown was settled first in 1822.
Baytown was originally three seperate towns. The towns were: Goose Creek, Pelly and East Baytown.
The three cities were officially combined on January 24, 1948.
As of 2007, the estimated population of Baytown was 72,215.
Baytown is part of the Houston/Sugar Land/Baytown Metro Area.
